How to setup IKEv2 VPN on macOS

IKEv2 protocol is a part of IPsec protocol suite and is used to create a reliably protected VPN connection. Distinctive feature of IKEv2 is the ability to automatically reestablish VPN tunnel connection in case of a temporary VPN disconnect which is a useful feature for mobile users. Another IKEv2 advantages are an easy setup process and no need to use additional software.

Click on Apple icon snd select System Preferences..., in appeared window click Network.

Set the following settings: To continue click Create.

Set connection parameters: To proceed click Authentication Settings.

Set accounting data and click OK: Important Note: VPN servers list, your VPN username and password are in the file readme.txt (was sent to your email after ordering the subscription).

Check Show VPN status in menu bar and click Apply.

To establish VPN-connection click on VPN icon from status bar and hit Connect.

To setup the outgoing IP open the http://setup.securevpnconnect.net when VPN-connection is active. Select the IP address you need and click the green check mark. The address is changed instantly, and the next time you connect to the VPN, the previously set address will be used.

To break VPN-connection click on VPN icon from status bar and select Disconnect.
